Linn (Sacred Space: Clearing and Enhancing the Energy of Your Home, Ballantine, 1995), a healer and practitioner of interior alignment, discusses how signs and portents appear in our lives and how we can interpret them. Her present work assures the reader that the universe is always putting out signs that, if read properly, will furnish understanding and assistance from other realms. Linn also discusses how we can call for signs, as well as the role of mistakes and coincidences in our lives. The bulk of her book is a dictionary of meaning of signs, from major life changes such as miscarriages to small objects such as cameras or garbage. The meanings are frequently posed in the form of questions. While Linn's essays and introduction are intriguing to someone beginning to explore alternative consciousness or spirituality, the dictionary analyses are frequently incomplete and necessarily impersonal.
