The daughter of a missionary in the South Pacific, Sarah LaRue enjoys the simplicity and beauty of nature. When an injured man washes up on the shoreline, Sarah is oddly captivated by him. As he comes to know Jesus under her father's care, Sarah's heart feels more divided than ever between the God of her father and the gods of her people. Bill Thomas's criminal past caught up with him and left him for dead in the ocean. After being rescued, he recuperates and learns of God's love and forgiveness. When Sarah's father arranges for Bill to marry his daughter and take her to New York, Bill agrees, knowing she already hold his heart.
