吴玉章（1878年12月30日—1966年12月12日），原名永珊，字树人，四川荣县人。杰出的无产阶级革命家、教育家，马克思主义历史学家和语言文字学家，新中国教育的开拓者，中国人民大学的创始人。吴玉章历经戊戌变法、辛亥革命、讨袁战争、北伐战争、抗日战争、解放战争、新中国建设而成为跨世纪的革命老人，与董必武、徐特立、谢觉哉、林伯渠一起被尊称为"延安五老"。1922年到1924年任成都高等师范学校（四川大学前身）校长。1948年任华北大学（中国人民大学前身）校长，1950年至1968年任中国人民大学校长。
